Even
the most ardent fan of Windows can't help but fall in love with Mac OS
X's dock. The simple, clear launcher provides easy access to the most
frequently used programs and settings of a Mac and is wonderfully
animated. With RK Launcher you can bring a very similar feature to
Windows.
The
dock can be locked to any of the four sides of your desktop and program
shortcuts can be added for easy access. This in itself is nothing
special, but where RK Launcher really shines is in the look department.
Roll your mouse over one of the icons and it will be magnified with a
smooth animation.
Just
as in Mac OS X, opening programs are accompanied by a bouncing animated
icon and the dock also provides access to running programs and open
windows. By default RK Launcher is semi-transparent so your desktop
background will show through, but this can be customised with a new
background image.
Program
configuration can be accessed by right clicking the separator that
appears in the dock and from here you can customise every aspect of RK
Launcher and control how it looks and works.
Verdict:
RK Launcher is a great alternative to the Start menu and taskbar with great looks to boot.
